Before You Start Wired Printing
Wired printing requires the printer, power, media, and a USB printer cable connected through Guac.
Before setup begins, make sure all required printer parts are available and ready to connect.
Required parts to assemble the DNP DS620A printer:
- DNP DS620A printer
- Printer media
- Paper roll
- Ink ribbon
- Printer AC power cable
- Printer USB-A to USB-B cable
What To Know
Prepare Guac & Chips For Wired Printing
Before setting up wired printing, make sure both Guac and Chips are assembled.
Follow these steps to prepare Guac & Chips for wired printing:
- Assemble the Guac Photo Booth base plate, poles, and Guac head.
Note: Make sure to run the printer cable up through the poles along with the AC power cable for Guac. - Plug the square USB-B end of the printer cable and the AC power cable into the printer
- Connect the printer to power and turn it on
- Connect Guac to power and turn it on
Optional: You do not need to attach Guac's flash and umbrella at this time, as these two components are not required to set up printing. However, you will want to attach them before an event for the best capture quality.

How To
Configure The iPad's Ethernet Settings
Use the IP Address and Subnet Mask numbers below exactly as shown.
- Open the Settings app on the iPad
- Tap Ethernet in the left navigation
- Tap Configure IP
- Select Manual
- Tap IP Address
- Enter 172.16.0.7
- Tap Subnet Mask
- Enter 255.255.255.0
How To
Set Up Wired Printing
- Open the Fiesta iOS App
- Select an event or create a new event
- Select Configure Event
- Select the Printing tab
- Enable Printing
- Tap Select A Printer
Note: If the printer does not appear, confirm that Guac is powered on and that all printer connections and Ethernet settings are configured correctly. View the troubleshooting steps. - Select Chips from the list
What To Know
Adjusting Print Size
The DNP DS620A printer should remain set to 4x6 in Set Default Options in the CUPS Settings.
To confirm this setting:
- Log in to the Fiesta iOS App while Chips is connected to Guac
- Tap the Account icon in the upper-right corner
- Tap Hardware Dashboard
- Tap Chips Dashboard
- Tap Adjust Printer Media Size under Printer Settings
- Tap the Administration dropdown menu below Chips (Idle, Accepting Jobs, Shared)
- Select Set Default Options
- Confirm that Media Size is set to 4x6
With the default media size set to 4x6, Fiesta will automatically adjust the print size based on the selected Photo Template.
If the event uses a 4x6 Photo Template, Chips will print in 4x6. If the event uses a 2x6 Photo Template, Chips will automatically print in 2x6 without requiring any manual media size changes.
Note: The default Media Size in Set Default Options should remain set to 4x6 for Fiesta to automatically switch print sizes correctly.
Note: You may be required to enter a username and password to access the Administration dropdown menu:
- Username: printer
- Password: password
What To Know
Printing 2x6 Photo Templates
While connected to Chips, Fiesta will print 4x6 or Double 2x6, depending on the Photo Template selected for the event.
To print 2x6 Photo Templates:
- Set the Photo Template to Double 2x6 in Fiesta

Note: The DNP DS620A does not support printing single 2x6 Photo Templates. The printer will print two copies of the Photo Template on a single 4x6 sheet, which it then cuts into two 2x6 strips.

Print Adjustments
Print Adjustments provide greater control over how Photo captures and Photo Templates are printed.
Print Adjustments provide more control over how Photo captures and Photo Templates are printed.
Print Adjustments control two aspects of printed output:
- Scale: the overall size of the printed image
- Offset: the alignment of the printed image on the page
These settings can be adjusted when the printed image appears too large, too small, or misaligned.
IMPORTANT: The Print Adjustments settings do not affect digital shares and only change how images are printed.

What To Know
FAQ
Do I need to use the USB cable that came with Chips?
- No. Guac can be connected to Chips in a wired configuration using any USB-B 2.0 to USB-A printer cable.
- A printer USB cable that is at least 10 feet long is recommended.
Why do my printer and LED Ring both not connect at the same time?
- If your hardwired printer and LED Ring are both not connected, this indicates a connection issue with the Guac brain, and it is recommended to confirm your iPad's Ethernet settings.

Do I need to own the Chips Stand to connect the DNP DS620A printer to Guac?
- No. A standalone DNP DS620A printer can be connected to Guac with a USB cable without requiring the Chips Stand.
Can I connect a different printer to Guac with a USB cable?
- Guac and Fiesta are only configured to detect and utilize the DNP DS620A.
- Other printers have not been tested, and may introduce unexpected hardware or software issues.
