Compatible Media And Print Sizes

Fiesta officially supports the following print sizes:

  • 2 x 6 photo strips
  • 4 x 6 full prints

For standard Fiesta printing workflows, 4 x 6 printer media is the recommended option for producing consistent results across both supported print formats.

Most compatible event printers can automatically cut 4 x 6 media into double 2 x 6 photo strips during printing, depending on the printer model and configuration.

Fiesta also includes additional capture Aspect Ratios, including Portrait 3:4, Landscape 4:3, and Square. These formats are primarily intended for digital captures and may not print proportionately when used with standard 4 x 6 media.

Using unsupported media sizes or printing nonstandard Aspect Ratios may result in stretched, squished, cropped, or bordered prints, depending on the printer model, printable area dimensions, and print configuration.

IMPORTANT: Choosing the correct printer is essential for media compatibility, automatic cutting support, and supported print sizes.

What To Know
Printing Nonstandard Aspect Ratios

Additional capture Aspect Ratios available in Fiesta include:

  • Portrait 3:4
  • Landscape 4:3
  • Square

These Aspect Ratios are designed primarily for digital sharing and digital capture workflows. When printed on standard 4 x 6 media, the image proportions may not align correctly with the printable area.

As a result, nonstandard Aspect Ratios may appear:

  • Stretched
  • Squished
  • Cropped
  • Surrounded by white borders

In some cases, larger printer media may help produce more proportionate prints for nonstandard Aspect Ratios.

Although not officially recommended, 6 x 8 printer media may help produce more proportionate 6 x 6 prints when supported by the printer model.

5 x 7 printer media is not recommended for 2 x 6 or 4 x 6 printing because the printable area does not proportionately match supported Fiesta layouts. Depending on the printer model and print configuration, using 5 x 7 media may produce white borders, stretched prints, or cropped images.

Because printer behavior varies between manufacturers and models, test prints are recommended before using nonstandard media or layouts during live events.

What To Know
Choosing The Correct Media

WhatToKnow-ChoosingTheCorrectMedia.png

Using printer media that more closely matches the selected Aspect Ratio may help reduce stretching or cropping during printing.

For standard Fiesta printing workflows, 4 x 6 media remains the recommended option for producing both officially supported print sizes.

Some printer models may also support alternate media sizes for nonstandard layouts, including 5 x 7 and 6 x 8, but media compatibility, printable area dimensions, and automatic cutting functionality vary by printer model.

6 x 8 media may help produce more proportionate results for certain nonstandard layouts, such as 6 x 6 prints, when supported by the printer model. 5 x 7 media is not recommended for supported 2 x 6 or 4 x 6 layouts because the printable area does not proportionately match those formats.

Selecting compatible media and testing print output in advance can help reduce unexpected cropping, scaling, or alignment issues during events.

Note: Confirm supported media sizes and print configurations with the printer manufacturer before using nonstandard media.

What To Know
FAQ

Does Fiesta officially support 5 x 7 media?

  • No. 5 x 7 media is not recommended for standard 2 x 6 or 4 x 6 printing because the printable area does not proportionately match supported layouts.

Can nonstandard Aspect Ratios be printed on standard 4 x 6 media?

  • Yes, but the output may appear stretched, squished, cropped, or surrounded by white borders because the image proportions may not align with the printable area.

Can 6 x 8 media be used for nonstandard print layouts?

  • In some cases, 6 x 8 media may help produce more proportionate prints for layouts such as 6 x 6, when supported by the printer model.

Why are test prints recommended before live events?

  • Printer behavior varies by manufacturer, printer model, printable area, media size, and print configuration. Test prints help identify cropping, scaling, and alignment issues before event use.
