Setting Up Printing, Email, And Texting

Event setup may require Printing, Email, and Text sharing to be available at the same time. This setup is possible when AirPrint is configured correctly and the iPad can maintain the connections needed for both printing and immediate digital sharing.

This article explains the setup requirements, how the iPad should be connected, and what to expect when Wi-Fi access is not available at the event.

Note: Printing is only available on the Fiesta Pro subscription tier.

What To Know
Setup Requirements

Two requirements are needed to allow both printing and immediate digital sharing through Email and Text:

  1. An AirPrint dongle
  2. Access to venue Wi-Fi or a personal hotspot

Note: Wi-Fi is not required for printing by itself. Wi-Fi is only required when immediate digital sharing is needed at the same time as printing.

IMPORTANT: Cellular data on an iPad cannot be used to support printing and immediate digital sharing at the same time. When Wi-Fi is not available, a cellular iPad can still support digital sharing, but not simultaneous printing through AirPrint.

If the AirPrint dongle cannot connect to Wi-Fi or a hotspot, or if there is no service at the event, all three options can still remain enabled. To continue printing during the event, make sure the iPad is connected directly to the AirPrint dongle.

Fiesta will run in Offline Mode. Email and Text shares will be saved until the device reconnects to a stable Wi-Fi network, at which point the pending shares and captures can upload.
