What Is Offline Mode?

Explainer-WhatIsOfflineMode.png

Offline Mode is a feature of the Fiesta iOS App to save and protect events even while the device is not connected to the internet. This allows you to run an event even when an internet connection is not available - for example on a farm or beach, or a location where wifi has stopped working - with as few limitations as possible and without interruptions.

Offline Mode also enables you to adjust most event settings on the iPad or iPhone without having to worry whether the settings will be saved. We know clients sometimes ask for changes at the last minute. With Offline Mode, you don't have to worry about having an internet connection in order to make those changes.

How To
Enable Offline Mode

Offline Mode will automatically be turned on when an internet connection is too weak to allow the Fiesta App to connect to the server, or if there is no internet connection. This is to ensure no captures or shares are lost, and the event runs smoothly!

All captures taken and shares made while the event is offline will be sent as soon as the device is connected to a strong internet connection. Please note these captures and shares can take up to 24 hours to fully upload after the device has been connected to the internet.

What To Know
Missing Event Captures

WhatToKnow-Error_WifiNetworkPreventingGuacConnection.png

An internet connection is required to upload captures to the servers and send Shares. When running an event while Fiesta is in Offline Mode, captures are stored only on the iOS device, and capture Shares are queued in the Fiesta App.

To prevent permanently losing captures, do not delete Fiesta from the iOS device until all event captures have finished uploading to the servers.

Once the iOS device is connected to a strong internet connection, queued captures will automatically upload to the servers for remote storage, and delayed capture Shares will be delivered to guests.

How To
Resolve Missing Event Captures

  1. Connect the iOS device used to run the event to a strong internet connection
  2. Log in to the Fiesta iOS App
  3. Select the event
  4. Keep the iOS device awake and the app open to the event's Captures tab until all of the captures display the Synchronized (check mark) icon

IMPORTANT: It can take up to 24 hours with strong Wi-Fi and the app open for captures to fully upload and Shares to send out.
