What is Offline Mode?

Explainer-WhatIsOfflineMode.png

Offline Mode is a feature of the Fiesta iOS App to save and protect events even while the device is not connected to the internet. This allows you to run an event even when an internet connection is not available - for example on a farm or beach, or a location where wifi has stopped working - with as few limitations as possible and without interruptions.

Offline Mode also enables you to adjust most event settings on the iPad or iPhone without having to worry whether the settings will be saved. We know clients sometimes ask for changes at the last minute. With Offline Mode, you don't have to worry about having an internet connection in order to make those changes.

How To
Enable Offline Mode

Offline Mode will automatically be turned on when an internet connection is too weak to allow the Fiesta App to connect to the server, or if there is no internet connection. This is to ensure no captures or shares are lost, and the event runs smoothly!

All captures taken and shares made while the event is offline will be sent as soon as the device is connected to a strong internet connection. Please note these captures and shares can take up to 24 hours to fully upload after the device has been connected to the internet.

How To
Resolve Queued Capture Uploads And Shares

An internet connection is required for captures to upload to the servers and for shares to be sent. Until the device used to run the event is connected to the internet, captures that are taken while in Offline Mode will only be stored locally on the device.

To avoid risking the loss of captures permanently, do not delete Fiesta from the iOS device until all the event captures are finished uploading to the servers.

In the Fiesta Software, a cloud icon with a slash through it will be displayed on captures that are queued for upload. When the device is connected to a strong internet connection, the cloud icon will transition to an arrow icon, indicating that the capture is currently uploading to the server. The arrow icon will then transition to a check mark, meaning that the capture is stored locally and on the servers.

What To Know
FAQ

Will I lose all my captures if I have a weak internet connection?

Help! I don't see the captures from my Offline event in the gallery! Are they gone?

  • Captures from an Offline event can take up to 48 hours to fully upload to the Fiesta servers once the device has been connected to a strong, stable internet connection.

  • All captures will be saved to the iPad until they have been uploaded to the Fiesta servers.
