Once you have selected your theme, it's time to enable features for your guests. Click on Menu Designer next to create hot spots and customize your features.

What Is Mode Editor?

 

The Mode Editor allows you to choose the types of capture modes available for an event and customize how those modes will work.

Note: Mode Editor is best used after selecting an Event Interface, as you will need to set the hotspots for guests to tap to select a capture mode.

How To

Add a Capture Mode to an Event

 

The Mode Editor allows you to add a tappable hotspot for up to five different capture modes: Photo, Boomerang, Video, Warp, and GIF.

Tip: Before adding capture modes, you may want to clear all current hotspots. To do this, tap the Add (+) button and select Clear Hotspots.

To add a capture mode:

  1. Launch QuesOS

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Tap Mode Editor

  4. Tap the Add (+) button

  5. Tap a capture mode

  6. Drag your finger diagonally across the interface to create a hotspot

Repeat these steps to continue adding additional capture modes.

Note: You can only add one hotspot for each capture mode.

What Is Feature Customization?

 

Feature Customization is a section within Mode Editor which allows you to customize the guest experience and make adjustments to certain capture modes.

Settings in Feature Customization include:

  • Selecting pose suggestions

  • Setting the countdown duration

  • Adding tints/filters

  • Selecting green screens for Photo Mode

  • Adding overlays for Boomerang, GIF, Warp, and Video

  • Adjusting GIF playback speed and number of frames

  • Setting video recording duration

  • Turning on black & white filter for Video Mode


How To

Select a Pose Suggestion

 

New events will have the Human Pose Suggestions turned on by default. You can change this to Emoji Pose Suggestions or turn them off entirely from the Mode Editor.

To select a Pose Suggestion:

  1. Launch QuesOS

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Tap Mode Editor

  4. Tap Feature Customization

  5. Select a Pose Suggestion

Pose Suggestions

 

Pose Suggestions are short videos or animated that provide guests with ideas for what to do during the capture.

The Human suggestions include a built-in countdown that is displayed on top of the video. Emoji suggestions do not include the countdown.

The Countdown Customization – or countdown duration – is locked to 3 seconds when using a Pose Suggestion. To adjust the countdown, you will need to disable Pose Suggestions.


How To

Set the Countdown Duration

 

The Countdown Customization – or countdown duration – allows you to adjust the time guests have to position themselves after selecting their capture mode and features.

The duration can be set to 3, 4, or 5 seconds.

To set the countdown duration:

  1. Launch QuesOS

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Tap Mode Editor

  4. Tap Feature Customization

  5. Tap Disable under Pose Suggestions

  6. Adjust the Countdown Customization slider


What To Know

Countdown Customization

 

The Countdown Customization is locked to 3 seconds when using a Pose Suggestion. To adjust the countdown duration, disable Pose Suggestions.

Queso’s flashes are high powered bulbs used in professional photography that require time to charge back up before being used again.

These bulbs are naturally consumable and will gradually lose maximum brightness and will require more time to charge up over time.

If you notice that the first image in a photo template is better lit than subsequent photos, consider increasing the countdown duration or replacing the flash bulbs.

How To

Add Tints/Filters to Photo Captures

 

Queso provides three unique tints – or filters – that can be used for photo captures:

  • Black & White

  • Sepia

  • Winter

To add tints to your event:

  1. Launch QuesOS

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Tap Mode Editor

  4. Tap Feature Customization

  5. Tap Select under Tints

  6. Select one or more tints

  7. Tap the back arrow

You can more than one tint to an event for guests to choose from, including Original as an option for no tint.

Note: If only one tint is selected it will be automatically applied to all photo captures.


How To

Add a Green Screen for Photo Mode

 

Adding a green screen to an event can transport your guests to anywhere in the world and beyond in just a few taps.

To turn on green screen:

  1. Launch QuesOS

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Tap Mode Editor

  4. Tap Feature Customization

  5. Tap Enabled under Green Screen Photo Mode

After turning on green screen, you will need to upload and/or select an image to be used as the background.

To upload and select a green screen background:

  1. Tap Upload to select a file from the Queso hard drive or connected flash drive.

  2. Tap Select and choose one or more images to be used for the green screen background

How To

Add an Overlay to Boomerang, GIF, Warp, and Video

 

Overlay, Boomerang, Warp, and Video modes allow you to apply an overlay image on top of the capture for design and branding purposes.

To add an overlay:

  1. Launch QuesOS

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Tap Mode Editor

  4. Tap Feature Customization

  5. Tap Upload under each capture mode’s overlay section

  6. Select an overlay file from the Queso hard drive

To remove an added overlay, click Clear.

Important: All overlay files must be in PNG format. Each capture mode has a different required size and dimension, which can be found in Queso’s File Requirements.

How To

Change the Number of Photos and Playback Speed for GIFs

 

GIFs are short videos made by stitching 2 to 5 photo captures together. The number of photos taken and how quickly or slowly they are cycled through can be controlled from the Mode Editor.

To change the GIF playback speed:

  1. Launch QuesOS

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Tap Mode Editor

  4. Tap Feature Customization

  5. Adjust the Playback Speed slider under GIF

To change the number of photos in a GIF:

  1. Launch QuesOS

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Tap Mode Editor

  4. Tap Feature Customization

  5. Select a number of photos to be taken


How To

Change Video Recording Duration

 

The default length of a video capture is 5 seconds, but it can be changed and set from 1 to 15 seconds.

To change the video recording duration:

  1. Launch QuesOS

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Tap Mode Editor

  4. Tap Feature Customization

  5. Change the Adjust Time slider to the desired duration

Note: Longer video captures will take more time to process.


How To

Turn on Black & White Filter for Video Mode

 

Queso allows for applying a black and white filter to Boomerang, Video, and Warp captures.

To turn on black and white filter for videos:

  1. Launch QuesOS

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Tap Mode Editor

  4. Tap Feature Customization

  5. Toggle on Black & White Mode under Video
