Some users have experienced an issue where a text box in some pre-made Overlays is not properly expanding to fit additional characters.

Customers may describe this issue in one of the following ways:

  • Why is the text box cutting off my text in a pre-made Overlay?
  • Text is getting cut off in a pre-made Overlay
  • The text box does not expand when I change the wording
  • Longer text wraps incorrectly in the Overlay
  • Part of the word is missing after editing the text
  • The Overlay preview does not match how the text looks in Design Studio
  • Text looks correct in the editor, but is cut off in the final Capture

 

Who Is Affected

This issue may affect customers using:

  • Fiesta Web App versions 1.7.1+

 

What Happens

When certain pre-made Overlays are selected from the Fiesta Library in Design Studio, editing a text box to use a longer word may prevent the text box from expanding correctly. As a result, text may be cut off or wrapped differently in the preview and final output Capture.

 

Workaround Steps

  1. Open the Overlay in the Design Studio Editor for editing
  2. Select the Text Layer
  3. Manually expand its horizontal size to fit all needed text

OR

  1. Change the font family to a different font

We do not have an exact release date yet. This article will be updated when a fix is available.
