Guac Flash Errors

The Guac Flash is an integral part of what makes Fiesta DSLR captures as high-quality as they are. While there are not many things that can occur, when the Flash is not responding appropriately it can create a huge problem.

However, most issues are easy to resolve with a few simple steps!

What To Know
Flash Not Working For Photos Or GIFs

Possible causes:

  • Flash adapter is not connected to the Canon camera
  • Flash sync cable is not connected to the flash adapter
  • Flash bulb is not fully screwed in
  • Flash is not powered on

Troubleshooting steps:

  • Check that the flash is turned on and set to:
    • Modeling lamp: 100%
    • Power: 1/2
  • Ensure that the flash sync cable is connected to the adapter
  • Ensure that the flash adapter is connected to the Canon camera

Resolve Flash Not Working For Photos Or GIFs

If the flash is plugged in and turning on:

  1. Turn off the flash
  2. Unplug the sync cable from the flash
  3. Turn the knob on the back of Guac to unlock the back door, and remove the back door from your Guac
  4. Unlock the the flash adapter by rotating the dial below where it says LOCK
  5. Remove the flash adapter and sync cable from the camera and Guac
  6. Check that the threaded ring on the sync cable is securely attached to the Nikon AS-15 flash adapter
  7. Reattach the flash adapter to the camera by sliding it into the hot shoe on top of the camera, with the sync cable facing the front
  8. Lock the flash adapter by rotating the dial until it is secure
  9. Plug the sync cable back into the flash
  10. Turn the flash back on

Possible causes:

  • Another device in the area is on the same channel

Resolve Flash Randomly Firing

  1. Press and hold the <GR/CH> button for two seconds, until the channel ID is blinking
  2. Turn the dial to choose a channel between 25-29
  3. Press the dial to confirm your selection
  4. Press and hold the <GR/CH> and <S1/S2> buttons at the same time, until the wireless tower icon at the top left of the flash display screen disappears

Note: Channels 1 through 4 are the most common consumer electronic channels, so setting it to a channel in the high 20s may prevent frequency-related misfires.
