The photo booth style popularized by the Kardashians is a soft, black and white capture – typically photo – that is an often requested guest experience because of its simplicity and classic look.

With Salsa, you can achieve this look with just a few features and settings adjustments in three steps:

  • Glam

  • Filters

  • Custom Camera Settings

Step One

Set Up Glam

To turn on Glam:

  1. Log in to Salsa

  2. Click Configure Event

  3. Click Event Capture Settings tab

  4. Click Face Effects

  5. Select Glam to activate the feature

Step Two

Turn on the Mono Filter

To turn on Filters:

  1. Log in to the Salsa web app

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Click Configure Event

  4. Click the Event Capture Settings tab

  5. Click Filters

  6. Select Mono to turn it on for the event

Note: There are two black & white filter options: Mono and Noir. Noir is not recommended when trying to achieve this effect due to the high contrast of the filter.

Step Three (Optional)

Adjust Camera Settings

Optionally, you can also adjust the camera settings from the Salsa iOS app. Setting both the White Balance and Exposure to manual will help maintain consistency between captures. To do this:

  1. Launch the Salsa iOS app

  2. Select your event

  3. Tap the Settings Gear

  4. Tap Camera Settings

  5. Tap White Balance and Exposure and set both to manual

  6. Adjust the values for each to the desired setting

Important: You will want to make these adjustments at the event once everything is set up. This is to ensure that the values are set to the lighting conditions at the event.
