Videos have become increasingly popular with booth owners due to Confessional Video Booths. Pairing your Guac with a microphone, this mode becomes even more powerful! 📹

What Is Video Mode?

 

Video Mode is a type of capture mode that can be turned on for guests to using when interacting with Salsa.

The maximum length of each video capture can be set from 2 seconds and up to 120 seconds.

Video captures also support audio recordings to allow guests to leave a message like birthday wishes, wedding greetings, or testimonials – depending on the event.

For the best experience when capturing videos with audio, it is recommended to use one of our recommended microphones for in-person events ran on the Salsa iOS app.


How To

Turn on Video Mode

 

To turn on Video Mode:

  1. Sign in to the Salsa web app

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Click Configure Event

  4. Click the Capture Settings tab

  5. Click the checkbox for Video to turn it on

From here you can also adjust the video length and turn on audio recording by clicking Edit next to Video.


How To

Change Video Recording Duration

 

Video captures have a default length of two (2) seconds and can be extended up to 120 seconds (15 seconds for Salsa Plus) within the Video Mode settings.

To change the length of video captures:

  1. Sign in to the Salsa web app

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Click Configure Event

  4. Click the Capture Settings tab

  5. Click Edit next to Video

  6. Adjust the video duration with the Plus (+) and Minus (-) buttons

  7. Click Save

Important: Changing the video duration to longer than 30 seconds will change how video capture files are compressed and the brightness levels of Guac’s LEDs.

How To

Record Audio in Video Captures

 

Video Mode includes an option to record audio along with the video capture.

To turn on audio recording:

  1. Sign in to the Salsa web app

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Click Configure Event

  4. Click the Capture Settings tab

  5. Click Edit next to Video

  6. Click On under Record audio

  7. Click Save

For the best experience and quality when recording audio, it is recommended to use an external microphone.


How to

Set up a Confessional Video Booth with Guac

 

Once you have a handle of how to set up Video for your event you can start to introduce the Confessional Video Captures!

To set up your Guac Video Confessional Booth:

  1. Turn the knob on the back of Guac to unlock the back door.

  2. Use the knob to lift and remove the door, setting it to the side.

  3. Feed the 3.5mm end of your 3.5mm to XLR cable through the top of your Guac head.

  4. Locate and open the small door on the lefthand side of the Canon M50.

  5. Plug the 3.5mm cable into the 3.5mm jack on Canon M50.

  6. Run the 3.5mm to XLR cable either behind or to the side of the Guac booth.

  7. Connect the XLR end of the cable to your Microphone.

  8. You are now ready to record audio for your Guac Video Confessional Booth!

What To Know

File Compression and Extended Video Duration

 

Video captures longer than 30 seconds will automatically be compressed to reduce overall file size.

Compressing longer videos will make the files a smaller size, allowing for:

  • Reduced upload time for videos captures

  • Reduced data usage when using a personal hotspot

  • Faster downloads for guests


How To

Add an Overlay

 

Overlays can be applied to add company branding or other design elements to video captures.

To add an overlay:

  1. Log in to the Salsa web app

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Click Configure Event

  4. Click the Capture Settings tab

  5. Click Overlays

  6. Click Add Overlay

From here you can select previous designs, create a new design, or upload a compatible file from your computer.
