What is Wireless Printing with Chips?
Wireless printing with Chips is fast, convenient, and an easy to set up solution for printing at an event while using your Guac booth with the Chips Printer.
Chips contains a proprietary brain that eliminates the need to use a third-party printer dongle and connects directly to Guac.

Step One
Connect the Salsa App to Chips
To set up wireless printing with Chips:
Open the Salsa iOS app
Click the settings gear
Select Guac & Chips
Click Chips Dashboard
Click Connect to Chips
Select the Chips Printer
You will be prompted to join the Chips Wi-Fi network
Click Join
Now you are ready to connect Chips to a WiFi network so you can Print and Share captures from an event.
Step Two
Connect WiFi to Chips
Tap Select Wi-Fi Network
Once Chips has connected click Dismiss
Tap Select Wi-Fi Network
Select a Wi-Fi network
Enter the Wi-Fi network password (if required)
Select an event or create a new event
Tap the Settings gear
Select Printing
Connect iPad to the same Wi-Fi network as Chips in the iPad settings
Enable both AirPrint and Use Chips As Default Printer
Chips is now connected and ready to print wirelessly!
IMPORTANT: Public WiFi networks that require a pop-up page in order to log in cannot be used with Chips.
What to know
Chips Printing in Offline Mode
If you are unable to connect Chips to a WiFi network in range Salsa will run in Offline Mode. While in Offline mode you will still have full printing capabilities. Captures uploading to the Live Gallery and shares will be paused until Salsa is connected to a stable WiFi connection.

Adjust the Print Size
By default, the printer is set up to print 4x6 images. If your event includes a 2x6 photo template, you will need to adjust the print media size in the event Settings.
Open the Salsa iOS app
Click the settings gear
Select Guac & Chips
Click Chips Dashboard
Tap Adjust Printer Media Size
Click the Administration dropdown menu
Select Set Default Options
Tap the Media Size dropdown menu
Select 2x6*2 for 2x6 photo templates
Tap Modify Defaults
Tap Done in the top left corner to return to the Salsa iOS app
Note: You may be required to enter in a username and password to access the Administration menu.
Username: printer
Password: password
What To Know
Printing 2x6 Photo Templates
The printer is set up to print 4x6 images and photo templates by default. In order to print different sizes, the media size will need to be adjusted within the printer’s settings.
You can change the print media size by following these steps.
To print 2x6 photo templates:
Set the print media size to 2x6*2
Set the photo template to Double 2x6 in Salsa
Note: The DNP DS620A does not support printing single 2x6 photo templates.
The 2x6*2 setting allows the printer to print two copies of the photo template on one 4x6 piece of paper and cuts it in half to create two copies.
What To Know
Printing 4.5x6 and 6x6 Photo Templates
The DNP DS620A requires 6 x 8 media in order to print 6x6 photo templates.
Locate where to purchase 6x8 media here.
Once the proper media has been loaded, you will need to adjust the print media size within the printer’s settings.
You can change the print media size by following these steps.
To print 6x6 photo templates:
Set the print media size to 5x5
The DNP DS620A does not support printing 4.5x6 photo templates.
What To Know
Printing Copies After an Event
To print copies after an event:
Open the Salsa iOS app
Select the event you want to print from
Tap Modes
Tap Sharing Station to turn it on
Tap Start Event
Select Start Sharing Station
Select a capture
Tap Print
IMPORTANT: Captures may not print correctly if printed from outside of a running event or Sharing Station.
What to know
Wireless vs. Wired Printing with Chips
Guac supports both wired and wireless printing.
Wired printing provides a faster and more consistent experience over wireless printing.
Wireless printing, on the other hand, benefits from greater convenience. You can place the printer farther away from the booth without having to worry about connecting cables between the two.
