QR Code

QR Code sharing is a fantastic way to allow guests to access and share their captures from Salsa without having to physically interact with the booth.

Guests simply scan a QR code that is displayed on-screen after a session. The code connects to a website where guests will enter their email address or phone number to share their capture.

How To

Turn on QR Code Sharing

To turn on QR Code sharing for your event:

  1. Sign in to the Salsa web app

  2. Select an event or create a new event

  3. Click Configure Event

  4. Click the Sharing tab

  5. Click QR Code

  6. Toggle on QR Code

This feature can be used alongside other sharing options such as text, email, AirDrop, and AirPrint. However, for an optimal hands-free experience, it is recommended to also enable Hands-Free Mode and only use QR Code (and AirPrint with Auto Print enabled and Print Button disabled) for your event's sharing options.

Best Practices

In order to get the most out of QR Code sharing and further limit physical interaction with Salsa, it is highly recommended to use these settings when building your event:

  • Enable Hands-Free Mode in Event Interface (Guest Interface on iOS)

  • Enable only one capture mode (e.g. Photo, Boomerang, GIF, Video)

  • Disable Gallery Mode

• Disable all other sharing options (e.g. text, email, AirDrop)

  • If offering prints, enable Auto Print from the AirPrint settings

  • Add an accent color to your Live Gallery to brand the landing page

What To Know

Sharing Options with QR Code

If a guest scans the QR code before the capture is uploaded, they will be taken to a landing page where they can enter in their email address or phone number to receive their capture once it is ready.

Note: The options on the QR code landing page to use either email or text cannot be disabled or changed.

Turning email or text sharing on or off – or any other sharing option – within the Event Settings will only affect the sharing options offered on the booth after a capture session, or from the event’s Gallery Mode.

How QR Code Sharing Works

qr-code-page

After each session, a unique QR code is generated specifically for that capture. Before the page is loaded, the Live Gallery checks if the capture is available. If it is, the guest will be taken directly to that capture.

If the capture has not yet been uploaded, they will be directed to a landing page where guests can enter their email address or phone number to be notified once the capture is available.

If Hands-Free Mode is enabled and QR Code is the only sharing option available, guests will be provided the QR code and a 30 second timer will be displayed on screen. The duration of the timer cannot be adjusted.

If Auto Print is enabled, the photo will print once the 30-second timer has elapsed.

All email addresses and phone numbers entered on the landing page are added to the event's Sharing & Survey Stats listed under QR Code Email and QR Code Phone Number.
