How to Add a Sharing Station to Other Photo Booths

 

Salsa’s Sharing Station can be used with other PBSCO booths and any other photo booth that allows for syncing with Dropbox including 360 booths!

 


How To

Set up Legacy Booth Sharing Station

 

Social Booth on Legacy does not have a Dropbox syncing functionality built in, but you can still set up the tablet and event settings to make it work.

To set up a Sharing Station for Legacy:

  1. Install Dropbox onto the Surface tablet

  2. Launch Social Booth

  3. Create your event as usual

  4. Set the Photo Save Folder in the General tab to a location in the Dropbox folder

  5. Tap Save & Exit

  6. Set up Dropbox Watch Folder in Salsa

  7. Select the Social Booth event folder from the Dropbox Watch Folder settings on Salsa

  8. Turn on Sharing Station in Salsa


How To

Set up Queso Booth Sharing Station

 

QuesOS includes a Dropbox syncing feature built in which will automatically upload captures to Dropbox, however Dropbox is still required to be downloaded and installed onto the booth.

To set up a Sharing Station for Queso

  1. Install Dropbox onto the Queso booth

  2. Launch QuesOS

  3. Tap the three horizontal line in the top left and select Settings

  4. Tap Dropbox

  5. Turn on Save Events to Dropbox

  6. Select an event or create a new event in QuesOS

  7. Set up Dropbox Watch Folder for Salsa

  8. Set the Dropbox Watch Folder to the event folder found in QuesOS Events folder on Dropbox

  9. Turn on Sharing Station for Salsa

How To

Set up Other Photo Booths

 

Any photo booth can take advantage of Salsa’s Sharing Station so long as the captures are in a support file format and there is a way to add those captures to a Dropbox folder.

While this can also be done manually by uploading captures directly to Dropbox, for the best experience you will want to set the photo booth software to automatically save captures to a Dropbox folder.


What To Know

Hardware Requirements

 

In order to set up a Sharing Station for any booth, including Salsa, you will need a supported iPad Pro or iPad Air to run the Salsa iOS app. The supported iPad models include:

iPad Pro

  • 12.9” iPad Pro 5th Generation (2021)

  • 11” iPad Pro 3rd Generation (2021)

  • 12.9" iPad Pro 4th Generation (2020)

  • 11" iPad Pro 2nd Generation (2020)

  • 12.9” iPad Pro 3rd Generation (2018)

  • 11” iPad Pro 1st Generation (2018)

  • 12.9" iPad Pro 2nd Generation (2017)

  • 10.5" iPad Pro 1st Generation (2017)

iPad Air

  • 10.9” iPad Air 4th Generation (2020)

Note: Salsa iOS app can be installed onto other iPad models, however you may experience unexpected behaviors when running the Sharing Station.

What To Know

Software Requirements

 

Aside from the photo booth software used to take the captures at an event, there are a few other requirements when setting up Sharing Station on another booth.

Software Requirements:

  • Salsa iOS app 1.16.0 or later

  • iPadOS 14.8 or later

  • Salsa Pro subscription

  • One Salsa Pro license for each Sharing Station

  • Dropbox

What To Know

Network Requirements

 

An internet connection is required for both the photo booth and Sharing Station in order for captures to be uploaded to Dropbox and downloaded to the Salsa Sharing Station.

Network Requirements:

  • Stable WiFi or cellular internet connectivity

  • Minimum 50 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speed

While slower internet connections will still allow Sharing Station to work, captures may not appear for some time.
