How to Replace and Reinstall a Surface Pro Tablet

 

It could be quite daunting when your Surface needs to be replaced, but please, don’t worry! We have created this guide for everyone out there to be able to follow, whether you are a Mac user, or a PC user.

We aim to make this article simple and understandable to every Owner we have! This article will cover every aspect of what you need to do to get your Surface back up and running.

 

Step One

Deregister Social Booth

If your old computer can still be used, try to deactivate the Social Booth Software. This will free up one of your two available licenses so that it can be installed on the new tablet.


Step Two

Set up the New Tablet

 

When you have the new tablet out of the box, YOU MUST  set up an offline user account with the name “pbsco”.

“pbsco” must be used as the user account for the original settings to work correctly.

While the set up process may have changed, these are the usual steps:

  1. Pair a pen if you have one (it is rarely used by most owners)

  2. Approve license agreement

  3. Set up WiFi

  4. Perform any required Windows updates

  5. When prompted, select Personal Offline Account and name it pbsco


Step Three

Set up the Booth

 

Have everything set up as if you were going to an event, but do not plug in the camera or printer.

The camera and printer must remained unplugged during the driver installation. The next step will guide you through the driver installation and you will then be instructed to plug in the remaining hardware.


Step Four

Set up the Software

 

Installation

Download all of the necessary software and drivers here

You should be able to download all of the files as one zip. Once completed, unzip the files and folders onto the Desktop.

DS40 DRIVER OR DS620A DRIVER

  1. Click printer install in “install” folder

  2. Click driverinstall.cmd

  3. Click Next

  4. Click Install

  5. Click Finish

Social Booth

  1. Double-click “SocialboothSetup.exe” to run the installation

  2. Continue through the installation steps until complete

  3. Drag Social Booth desktop icon into task bar to create shortcut

Load event settings

  1. Click Social Booth on task bar once to open it up

  2. Enter in your Social Booth email and license key

  3. In the “GENERAL” tab click “load event”

  4. Click desktop on the left hand side

  5. Click the “backgrounds” folder

  6. Scroll down to “firsteventSP4.setting” and open


Step Five

Set Up the Hardware

 

Hardware Installation

Turn on DS40 printer
Turn on Camera
Plug in camera and ds40 to USB hub and plug the usb hub into the right angle usb hub
Plug in right angle usb hub to surface pro 3
Open up Social Booth
In the “General” tab click DSLR
Make sure it says connected below DSLR. If not connected, turn on and off the camera.
Click the green “save and start”
Click left camera icon to start the photo phase
Ensure that it takes three photos and that the program is talking at 100 volume
Hit the left icon
Hit the top left filter
Hit Done
Check print
Exit the program by swiping from the sidebar
Settings
Keyboard
Touch keyboard and handwriting panel
Hit “FN” and then F1 to exit
Quit


Step Six

Arrange the Desktop Files

 

Move desynchronize to top right corner
Delete the install folder
Open up first event
Open up CUSTOMIZED / GIF / ORIGINALS and delete all of the images in there
Move Dsynchronize to top right
Right click recycle bin and empty trash
Swipe in right to open up sidebar
Settings
Power
Shut down
