What is Mirroring?
Mirroring flips the final capture horizontally so it appears more like the way guests are used to seeing themselves in a mirror.
This changes how the final image is saved, but does not affect how guests appear in the live view.
What To Know
Turning On Mirroring For Captures
In Fiesta, Mirroring is turned off by default for the final image.
The live camera view is always mirrored while framing the shot, but the Mirroring setting only affects the saved final image.
Here is how the Mirroring setting affects captures:
With Mirroring enabled, the final image is flipped to match the mirrored live view. This can make the image feel more familiar to guests, but text on props or signs will appear reversed.
With Mirroring disabled, the final image is saved like a traditional camera photo, so text appears correctly.
How To
Turn On Mirroring
- Log in to Fiesta
- Select the event you wish to turn on Mirroring for, or create a new event
- Select Configure Event
- Select the Camera tab
- Select Camera Defaults
- Toggle on Mirroring
Note: Mirroring is turned off by default in newly created events.
What To Know
When (And When Not) To Use Mirroring
Mirroring can be used with any Event Type and is usually a matter of client preference.
It is often used for Glam-style setups or weddings, especially when no physical props, backdrops, or signs with visible text are included in the capture.
Mirroring is usually not recommended when physical items with text appear in the shot, because the text will be flipped in the final image.
Note: Mirroring does not affect text that is part of a Photo Template or Overlay.

FAQ
Do I have to use Mirroring?
- No. Mirroring is optional and can be turned off in Camera Defaults.
Why is the text in the capture reversed?
- If text appears on a physical backdrop, sign, or prop, Mirroring is likely enabled. In that case, we recommend turning Mirroring off.
- If a mirrored look is still preferred but the event design includes text, consider using Background Removal with the background uploaded as a file instead of using a physical backdrop with text.
