Guac Disassembly Guide

Before You Start

Before disassembling the Guac, make sure that:

  • The Guac is unplugged from power to prevent potential damage
  • The Guac case and any protective foam inserts are nearby
  • A flat, secure surface is nearby to place your Guac head on during disassembly

 


Step One
Power Down The Guac

  1. Turn off the iPad through the iPad settings
  2. Remove the rear door on the Guac and place it on a flat surface
  3. Turn the camera off by rotating the power switch on top of the camera to the OFF position
  4. Turn off the flash by pressing the power switch on the back of the unit to the OFF position
  5. Unplug the Guac from the outlet or power source
  6. Disconnect the sync and power cables from the flash

Note: The Guac camera can remain installed during standard transport. If removal is necessary, refer to the guide on How To Remove The Guac Camera.

Step Two
Remove The Flash And Umbrella From The Guac

  1. Loosen the tilt lock handle on the flash and rotate it forward
  2. Slide the umbrella pole out of the reflector and flash mount
  3. Unscrew the flash pole mount lock and lift the flash off the flash pole
  4. Detach the reflector from the flash
  5. Slide the black plastic cover back onto the flash and secure it with the quick-release switch.
  6. Unscrew the flash pole from the top of the Guac head 
  7. Place the umbrella, flash, reflector, and flash pole into the Guac case

Step Three
Detach The Guac Head

  1. Unscrew the knobs inside the Guac head that secure the Guac head to the poles
  2. Carefully lift the Guac head off the top pole
  3. Disconnect the cables from the bottom of the Guac head
  4. Place Guac head face down on a secure, flat surface
  5. Reattach the rear door

Note: The iPad does not need to be removed from the Guac during transport

Step Four
Disconnect The Poles And Baseplate

  1. Loosen knobs on the top pole
  2. Feed the cables through the top pole
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the bottom pole
  4. Place each pole back in its designated space in the Guac case
  5. Place the foam protective insert on top of the poles
  6. Remove the cables from the baseplate
  7. Wrap the cables and store them safely in the case

Step Five
Store The Guac Head

  1. Place the Guac head in the case with the front facing down
    Note: To prevent damage to the Guac head, place the foam protective insert on top of the poles before storing the Guac head
  2. Close and secure the latches on the case
