Boomerangs on the Salsa iOS app support the following features:

What To Know

Adding an Animated Overlay

Animated overlays work great with Boomerangs and there a few tips to know when adding one to your event.

Boomerangs and animated overlays have their own independent settings that work together to get the best result:

  • Boomerang unlooped video duration

  • Animated overlay frame speed

By default, Boomerangs have a 1 second long unlooped video duration and animated overlays have a 1 second frame speed.

With the default settings, you may not see the frame change in the final capture.

To ensure that Boomerang captures show multiple frames in an animated overlay, you will want to either increase the unlooped video duration or decrease the frame speed.

For example, if your animated overlay has four frames, you will want to increase unlooped video duration to 2 seconds, and decrease the frame speed to 0.5 seconds.

This will allow for all four frames (at 0.5 seconds for each) to fit into the 2 second Boomerang recording.
