What Is The Event Background Screen?
The Background Screen is the screen that appears behind every screen except for the Tap To Start screen during an In-Person Event. This includes selection screens, capture screens, sharing screens, and the Gallery Mode and Sharing Station screens.
By default, a blurred version of the current Live View from the camera is displayed as the background. A custom background can be selected as well to create a more seamless experience with the Tap To Start screen, add a bit more customization, or simply change the tone of the event!
How To
Access Background Screen
- Log in to Fiesta
- Select the event or create a new event
- Select Configure Event
- Select the Interface tab
- Select Background Screen
Note: Live View will be selected by default.
What To Know
Live View Vs. Custom Background
Under the Background Screen settings, there are two options for display: Live View and Custom Background.
Live View displays a heavily blurred and distorted version of what the booth camera sees (the iOS camera or DSLR camera, depending on which Event Type is running). This provides a more clean, modern appearance to most events while minimizing distraction from the capture process.
Custom Background provides the option to select or upload a background file to display behind all guest selection and capture screens. This allows for more cohesion through each guest session, further ability to customize and match the Tap To Start screen with the rest of the event!

- Select an event or create a new event
- Select Configure Event
- Select the Interface tab
- Select Background Screen
- Select Custom Background

- Log in to Fiesta
- Select an event or create a new event
- Select Configure Event
- Select the Interface tab
- Select Background Screen
- Select Custom Background
- Select Change underneath the Custom Background selected
From here, either select Select from Fiesta Library, Select from recent uploads, or Upload from your device. When uploading custom background screens, the Background Screen has the same file requirements as the Tap to Start interface screens.

When is the Background Screen visible?
- After the Tap to Start Screen, the selected Background Screen appears behind all guest-facing screens — Mode Selection, Capture, Review, Sharing, and Surveys.
What are the file requirements for Background Screens?
- PNG, JPG, and MP4 file types can be used. If the file is an MP4, it must be 5 seconds or less.
