Chips Wireless Printing Setup

Explainer-ChipsWirelessPrintingSetup.png

Chips Wireless Printing provides a convenient way to print with Guac without running a printer cable between the booth and the printer. Once Chips is connected, the Fiesta iOS App can print wirelessly while still supporting sharing and event setup features.

The Chips Brain manages the wireless printing connection between Guac, the Fiesta iOS App, and the printer without requiring a third-party printer dongle.

Note: Printing is only available on the Fiesta Pro subscription tier.

What To Know
Adjusting Print Size

WhatToKnow-AdjustingPrintSize.png

The DNP DS620A printer should remain set to 4x6 in Set Default Options in the CUPS Settings.

To confirm this setting:

  1. Log in to the Fiesta iOS App while Chips is connected to Guac
  2. Tap the Account icon in the upper-right corner
  3. Tap Hardware Dashboard
  4. Tap Chips Dashboard
  5. Tap Adjust Printer Media Size under Printer Settings
  6. Tap the Administration dropdown menu below Chips (Idle, Accepting Jobs, Shared)
  7. Tap Set Default Options
  8. Confirm that Media Size is set to 4x6

With the default media size set to 4x6, Fiesta will automatically adjust the print size based on the selected Photo Template.

If the event uses a 4x6 Photo Template, Chips will print in 4x6. If the event uses a 2x6 Photo Template, Chips will automatically print in 2x6 without requiring any manual media size changes.

Note: The default Media Size in Set Default Options should remain set to 4x6 for Fiesta to automatically switch print sizes correctly.

Note: You may be required to enter a username and password to access the Administration dropdown menu:

  • Username: printer
  • Password: password

What To Know
Printing 2x6 Photo Templates

WhatToKnow-Printing2x6PhotoTemplates.png

While connected to Chips, Fiesta will print in 4x6 or Double 2x6, depending on the Photo Template selected for the event.

To print 2x6 Photo Templates:

  • Set the Photo Template to Double 2x6 in Fiesta

Note: The DNP DS620A does not support printing single 2x6 Photo Templates. With double 2x6 printing, the printer will print two copies of the Photo Template on a single 4x6 sheet, which it then cuts into two 2x6 strips.
