Creating & Customizing Photo Templates

Explainer-CreatingCustomizingPhotoTemplates.png

A Photo Template in Design Studio is a multi-capture design that can contain between one and four Photo captures, and is most commonly used for printing.

When designing a custom Photo Template, up to four Placeholders can be added and arranged for Photo captures. Each Placeholder can be resized and repositioned, and its layer position can be adjusted in the Photo Template’s layer order.

Photo Templates can also include Backgrounds, Overlays, Text, and Art Assets to create a complete custom print design.

Note: Unlike Overlays, Photo Templates have a Background layer that is positioned behind all other design elements.

Note: Design Studio is only available in the Fiesta Web App and is not accessible in the Fiesta iOS App.

Photo Templates can be created in Design Studio by selecting a Photo Template size and starting layout. Available Photo Template sizes include 2x6, 4x6, and 6x6.

After a starting layout is selected, the Design Studio Editor can be used to customize the Photo Template. From the editor, you can modify text, add Art Assets, adjust layers, and further personalize the selected layout.

Note: Placeholders can be added or removed in the Design Studio Editor after the initial layout has been chosen.

What To Know
Photo Template Layers

WhatToKnow-PhotoTemplateLayers.png

While Photo Templates in Fiesta are the full multi-capture design, they consist of up to five types of layers: Backgrounds, Placeholders, Overlays, Text, and Art Assets. Below is a breakdown of each of these layer types.

Photo Template Backgrounds
  • A single JPG or PNG image used as the base layer
  • Backgrounds sit behind all other layers, acting as a Photo Template's foundation
  • Must match the required Photo Template size and dimensions for your desired layout
  • Photo Template Backgrounds should not be resized or repositioned on the Photo Template

Placeholders

  • Layers that define the size and position of guests' Photos in the final Photo Template output
  • Up to 4 Placeholders can be added to each Photo Template
  • Placeholders sit on top of the Background

Photo Template Overlays

  • PNG images with transparent backgrounds
  • Designed to sit on top of the entire Photo Template
  • Must match the required Photo Template size and dimensions for the selected layout
  • Should not be resized or repositioned on the Photo Template

Text Layers

  • Text layers created within Design Studio
  • Adjustable font, text size, and color
  • Text layers can be placed in any order above a Background layer
  • Text layers can be resized and repositioned on the Photo Template

Art Assets

  • JPG or PNG images
  • Used for smaller design elements, such as logos or decorative graphics
  • Can be resized and repositioned anywhere on the Photo Template
  • Can be uploaded in any dimensions, within Fiesta’s file size limits

What To Know
Placeholders

WhatToKnow-Placeholders.png

In addition to uploading custom graphics, Design Studio can create custom Photo Template layouts using Placeholders. Placeholders define the size and position of guests’ Photos in the final Photo Template output.

Each Photo Template can include up to four Placeholders, and each Placeholder can be positioned and sized separately.

Note: Uploaded Art Assets that have larger dimensions than the overall Photo Template dimensions will be automatically resized to fit within the Photo Template.

IMPORTANT: To ensure the design looks as intended, uploading the correct size for the Background and/or Overlay is necessary.

If a Background or Overlay is uploaded with different dimensions than required, it will be stretched or shrunk to fit the Photo Template. This may cause the image to look pixelated or distorted.
