What are Ethernet Settings?

Explainer-WhatAreEthernetSettings.png

When using Guac Photo Booth, correct Ethernet settings are required to allow the Fiesta iOS App to connect to the Guac Brain, and interact with the LED Ring and printer.

A correctly set up Ethernet connection will allow for the adjustment of the LED Ring brightness, color, and pattern, as well as adjustments to all of the printing settings when connected to the Chips printer utilizing CUPS.

IMPORTANT: The Ethernet settings will only appear in your iPad's Settings app when the iPad is connected to a Guac Photo Booth.

What To Know
Conflicting IP Addresses

WhatToKnow-ConflictingIPAddresses.png

When setting up your iPad's Ethernet settings and connecting to Guac, you may experience an issue where the Wi-Fi IP address assigned to your device by the Wi-Fi network that your iPad is connected to conflicts with Guac's primary Ethernet IP address. When this issue occurs, it will present as Guac failing to connect in Fiesta, a hardwired printer not connecting, and the LED Ring not properly adjusting.

Switching to Guac's backup IP address (10.0.0.7) will resolve the conflict and enable the printer and LED Ring connections while keeping the iPad connected to Wifi for capture Sharing and real-time Gallery uploads.
