What Are Ethernet Settings?
Guac uses an Ethernet connection to communicate with the iPad. Correct Ethernet settings allow the Fiesta iOS App to connect to the Guac Brain and control the LED Ring.
Once Ethernet is configured correctly, you can adjust the LED Ring brightness, color, and pattern and use Chips for hardwired printing.
IMPORTANT: Ethernet appears in the iPad Settings app only while the iPad is connected to a powered-on Guac. If Ethernet does not appear, confirm that the USB-C cable is securely connected to the iPad. If it is still missing, restart the iPad.

Connect Ethernet
- Open the iPad Settings app
- Tap Ethernet in the left navigation
- Tap the Ethernet interface shown on the right
- The Ethernet interface may appear as AX88179A or USB 10/100/1000 LAN.
- Tap Configure IP
- Tap Manual
- Tap IP Address
- Enter 172.16.0.7
- Tap Subnet Mask
- Enter 255.255.255.0
- Tap Save
- Reopen the Fiesta iOS App
- Tap the Account icon in the upper-right corner
- Tap Hardware Dashboard
- Allow a few seconds for the status to update, then confirm that Guac Connected shows a green indicator
What To Know
Conflicting IP Addresses
Guac's primary Ethernet configuration uses the IP address 172.16.0.7. If the connected Wi-Fi network also assigns the iPad an IP address beginning with 172.16.0, the iPad may not communicate with Guac correctly. Guac may appear disconnected in Fiesta, the LED Ring controls may not respond, and a hardwired Chips printer may not connect.
Switching the Ethernet IP address to Guac's backup address (10.0.0.7) avoids this conflict while keeping the iPad connected to Wi-Fi for online sharing and Live Gallery uploads.

Resolve: Conflicting IP Addresses
Before continuing, confirm that the iPad's Wi-Fi IP address begins with 172.16.0.
In the iPad Settings app, tap Wi-Fi, then tap the information icon (circled i) next to the connected network. If its IP address does not begin with 172.16.0, follow the Connect Ethernet steps instead.
- Return to the main screen of the iPad Settings app
- Tap Ethernet in the left navigation
- Tap the Ethernet interface shown on the right
- The Ethernet interface may appear as AX88179A or USB 10/100/1000 LAN.

- Enter 10.0.0.7
- Tap Subnet Mask
- Enter 255.255.255.0
- Tap Save

IMPORTANT: Use 10.0.0.7 only to resolve a Wi-Fi and Ethernet IP conflict. Before your next event, switch back to the primary IP address (172.16.0.7) unless the new Wi-Fi network also uses the 172.16.0 IP range.

FAQ
Do I need internet access to configure the iPad's Ethernet settings?
- No. Internet access is not required to configure the Ethernet settings or operate Guac locally. Online sharing and Live Gallery uploads still require an internet connection.
