Understanding Salsa 1 LED Issues

Salsa 1 LED issues can occur for a number of reasons. As the LEDs pair via Bluetooth, interference or failure to pair can prevent them from functioning properly.

Due to the nature of a photo booth's functionality, the LEDs are also prone to burn out after extended use and at times need to be replaced.

What To Know
Salsa 1 Best Practices

WARNING: Do not run the Salsa App and Fiesta Software simultaneously; doing so will prevent Salsa 1's LEDs from pairing correctly.

Always have an iPad installed before turning your Salsa 1 Photo Booth on!

  • Please note that your warranty will be voided if Salsa 1 is powered on without an iPad or its cardboard insert installed.
  • Don't throw Salsa 1's cardboard insert away! If you don't have an iPad yet, you can keep the cardboard insert installed when turning your booth on to ensure it is correctly receiving power.

How To
Preliminary Troubleshooting Steps

Many of Salsa 1's most common LED issues can be fixed by following these steps.

Salsa 1's LEDs work best when you're running the latest version of the Fiesta iOS App on your iPad.

  1. Launch the App Store App on your iPad
  2. Search for Fiesta: Photo Booth Software
  3. Tap on the app listing in the search results
  4. If an update is available, tap the Update button

Try: Re-pairing Salsa 1's LEDs.

Re-pairing Salsa 1's LEDs in the Fiesta iOS App will refresh the software's connection to the LED Ring, and can help when your LEDs do not come on upon starting an event.

  1. Launch the Fiesta iOS App on your iPad
  2. Select an Event from the Events page
  3. Tap Configure Event
  4. Tap Interface
  5. Tap LED Ring
  6. Tap Unpair LEDs
  7. Tap Pair with LED to re-pair LEDs

Try: Checking your iPad settings.

Your Salsa 1's LEDs rely on a few critical settings within the iPad's Settings App; checking these can help fix pairing issues, including "Pairing failed. Please try again."

  1. Launch the iPad's Settings App
  2. On the left-side menu panel, tap Bluetooth
  3. Ensure Bluetooth is switched ON
  4. Scroll down along the left-side panel to Privacy & Security
  5. Within Privacy & Security, tap on Bluetooth
  6. If Fiesta is already switched ON, toggle it OFF and back ON
  7. Go back to the Privacy & Security settings
  8. Tap on Local Network
  9. If Fiesta is already switched ON, toggle it OFF and back ON

Try: Reconnecting Salsa 1 to power.

Checking Salsa 1's power components can help resolve connection issues when you've already updated the Fiesta iOS App and checked its settings in the iPad's Settings App.

  1. Disconnect Salsa 1 from power
  2. Remove Salsa 1's head, and disconnect the DC Extension Cable from its port
  3. Reconnect the DC Extension Cable, applying firm pressure to ensure a secure connection, and fasten its tightening screw
  4. Check that all of Salsa 1's power cables are securely connected to one another
  5. Reconnect Salsa 1 to power

Try: Restarting the Fiesta iOS App and Salsa 1 Photo Booth.

Powering your booth and iPad down, and keeping them shut off for 15-30 seconds before restarting, can help resolve persistent pairing and connection issues.

  1. Disconnect Salsa 1 from power
  2. Force close the Fiesta iOS App
  3. Open the iPad's Settings App
  4. Tap General
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the General settings
  6. Tap Shut Down
  7. Wait for 15-30 seconds
  8. Reconnect Salsa 1 to power
Note: this will power your iPad back on as well, as long as it's connected to the Salsa 1's iPad charging cable
  9. Reopen the Fiesta iOS App, and tap on your event
  10. Tap Configure Event
  11. Tap Interface
  12. Tap LED Ring
  13. Tap Pair with LEDs
