How To
Preliminary Troubleshooting Steps

Many common Salsa 1 LED issues can be resolved with the steps below. Start here before moving to the issue-specific sections later in this article.

Try: Updating the Fiesta iOS App.

Salsa 1's LEDs work best when you're running the latest version of the Fiesta iOS App on your iPad.

  1. Launch the App Store app on your iPad
  2. Search for Fiesta: Photo Booth Software
  3. Tap the app listing in the search results
  4. If an update is available, tap the Update button

Try: Re-pairing Salsa 1's LEDs.

Re-pairing Salsa 1's LEDs in the Fiesta iOS App will refresh the software's connection to the LED Ring, and can help when your LEDs do not come on upon starting an event.

  1. Launch the Fiesta iOS App on your iPad
  2. Select an Event from the Events Screen
  3. Tap Configure Event
  4. Tap Interface
  5. Tap LED Ring
  6. Tap Unpair LEDs
  7. Tap Pair with LEDs to re-pair LEDs

Try: Checking your iPad settings.

Salsa 1's LEDs rely on a few critical settings within the iPad's Settings app. Checking these settings can help resolve pairing issues, including "Pairing failed. Please try again."

  1. Launch the iPad's Settings app
  2. In the left navigation list, tap Bluetooth
  3. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled
  4. Scroll down the left navigation list, and tap Privacy & Security
  5. Within Privacy & Security, tap Bluetooth
  6. If Fiesta is already switched ON, toggle it OFF and back ON
  7. Go back to Privacy & Security settings
  8. Tap Local Network
  9. If Fiesta is already switched ON, toggle it OFF and back ON

Try: Reconnecting Salsa 1 to power.

Checking Salsa 1's power components can help resolve connection issues when you've already updated the Fiesta iOS App and checked its settings in the iPad's Settings app.

  1. Disconnect Salsa 1 from power
  2. Remove the Salsa 1 Head from the poles, and disconnect the DC Extension Cable from its port
  3. Reconnect the DC Extension Cable, applying firm pressure to ensure a secure connection, and fasten its tightening screw
  4. Check that all of Salsa 1's power cables are securely connected to one another
  5. Reconnect Salsa 1 to power

Try: Restarting the Fiesta iOS App and Salsa 1 Photo Booth.

Powering your booth and iPad down, and keeping them shut off for 15-30 seconds before restarting, can help resolve persistent pairing and connection issues.

  1. Disconnect Salsa 1 from power
  2. Force close the Fiesta iOS App
  3. Open the iPad's Settings app
  4. Tap General
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the General settings
  6. Tap Shut Down
  7. Drag the slider at the top of the screen to the right to power down the iPad
  8. Wait for 15-30 seconds
  9. Reconnect Salsa 1 to power
Note: this will power your iPad back on automatically, as long as it's connected to the Salsa 1's iPad charging cable
  10. Reopen the Fiesta iOS App and tap your event
  11. Tap Configure Event
  12. Tap Interface
  13. Tap LED Ring

What To Know
Salsa 1 LEDs Not Lighting Up When Plugged Into Power

WhatToKnow-SalsaLEDsNotLightingUpWhenPluggedIntoPower.png

Salsa 1 is shipped with its LEDs set to Lamp Mode. When the booth is plugged into power for the first time, the LED Ring will illuminate to show a solid, white light.

This may not happen again after Salsa 1 has been paired with the Fiesta iOS App. This is expected, because the booth is then configured to turn on and control the LEDs when an event is started.

What To Know
Salsa 1 LEDs Not Updating Pattern Or Color

WhatToKnow-SalsaLEDsNotUpdatingPatternOrColor.png

This may occur if the Fiesta iOS App is not correctly communicating with Salsa 1's LED controller. Connection issues between the iPad and Salsa 1 can prevent changes to LED color or pattern from updating correctly.

This can also happen if changes are made in Fiesta Web App while the iPad is offline, connected to the wrong network, or running a different event than the one being edited.

What To Check:

  • If you are changing the LED pattern or color using the Fiesta Web App, make sure the iPad is connected to Wi-Fi and the correct event is running
