What To Know
Screen Size
The best iPad screen size depends on the booth being used and the setup priorities for the event. Larger screens can feel more immersive, while smaller supported models may be more affordable and require less power.
12.9" iPad Pro & 13" iPad Pro
- 12.9" & 13" screens are larger, and offer a more immersive experience
- With 12.9" iPad Pro models (3rd - 6th Generation), you don't need to purchase an alternate faceplate for Salsa 1 or Guac Photo Booth
- With 13" iPad Pro models, you don't need to purchase an alternate faceplate for Salsa 2 Photo Booth
11" iPad Pro & 10.9" iPad Air
- iPad models with 11" and 10.9" screens require less power when running off of alternate power options
- 11" iPad Pro and 10.9" iPad Air models are often a more affordable and cost-effective option, great for deploying multiple photo booths
IMPORTANT: 2024 iPad models and newer (13" iPad Pro and 11" iPad Air) are only compatible with Salsa 2 and Guac Photo Booths, and are not compatible with Salsa 1 Photo Booths.
What To Know
Wi-Fi vs. Wi-Fi + Cellular
Strong and stable Wi-Fi can be a luxury at an event, so having an internet backup plan can be a great idea.
While internet access isn't necessary to start an event, being able to provide the shared captures to guests immediately can be a delightful experience. Some clients choose to use a standalone dedicated hotspot device for their photo booths, but you can also purchase an iPad that has built-in cellular data connectivity, similar to a smartphone.
You can read more about supported carriers and how to subscribe to a cellular plan on Apple's website.
Note: AirPrint is not available when using only an iPad’s cellular connection. If printing and immediate digital sharing are both needed at an event without Wi-Fi, a dedicated hotspot device is recommended.

What To Know
Storage Capacity
Your iPad or iPhone’s storage provides space for the Fiesta iOS App and any other apps or files needed to prepare for and run events.
The Fiesta iOS App temporarily stores captures on the device before upload, and for up to 7 days after they have been successfully uploaded to the event’s Live Gallery. After that, captures are removed from the device to free storage space for future events.
While iPads and iPhones are available in a range of storage capacities, the base model storage option is more than enough if you plan to use your device solely for running events.
