Setting Up Your iOS Device

While the Fiesta iOS App can be used without making any changes to the default iOS settings across iPad and iPhone devices, you can greatly improve the guest experience, and increase the security and privacy on the iOS device by following this guide.

What To Know 
Display

Turn Off Auto-Brightness

  • This will allow the screen to have consistent brightness throughout the event

Turn Off True Tone

  • This will allow the screen to display accurate and consistent colors throughout the event

Turn On High Resolution Preview

  • This will allow the iPad to take higher-resolution captures, resulting in better quality photos, GIFs, Boomerangs, and videos! 
    Note: High Resolution Preview can cause performance issues when using on older iPad models.

Turn Off Auto Brightness

  1. Open the iOS Settings app
  2. Tap Accessibility in the left navigation menu
  3. Tap Display & Text Size
  4. Toggle off Auto-Brightness at the bottom of the menu

Turn Off True Tone

  1. Open the iOS Settings app
  2. Tap Display & Brightness in the left navigation menu

Turn On High Resolution Preview

  1. Open the iOS Settings app
  2. Tap Apps in the left-hand navigation list
  3. Select Fiesta
  4. Toggle on High Resolution Preview

What To Know
Security And Privacy

Create A Passcode

  • This will keep your iOS device and any information stored on it secured

Turn On Find My Device

  • This will allow you to track and monitor the location of your iOS device and lock remotely if it goes missing

Turn On Do Not Disturb

  • This will prevent notifications from appearing on screen during an event

Turn On Guided Access

  • This will prevent guests from exiting or leaving the Fiesta iOS App during an event

Turn On Photos Access For Fiesta

  • This will allow you to download captures from Fiesta to your Camera Roll and upload assets for an event from the Camera Roll

Note: This option will only be available after you have tried to upload captures to an event from your device

Turn On Bluetooth Access For Fiesta

  • This will allow you to pair Fiesta with different Bluetooth features

Turn On Local Network Access For Fiesta

  • This will allow you to connect to an AirPrint dongle for AirPrinting

How To
Create A Passcode

  1. Open the iOS Settings app
  2. Tap Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID & Passcodes for earlier iPad models)
  3. Tap Turn Passcode On
  4. Set the device passcode

Note: Do not use Touch ID to secure your device for Fiesta.

Tip: While it may make remembering passcodes easier, it is recommended that the passcode used for the iOS device is different from the Guided Access passcode and your Event Passcode.

How To
Turn On Find My Device

  1. Open the iOS Settings app
  2. Tap your Profile at the top of the left navigation, below the search bar
  3. Tap Find My
  4. Tap Find My iPad or Find My iPhone
  5. Toggle on Find My iPad or Find My iPhone
  6. Optional: You can choose to also turn on Find My Network and Sent Last Location from the Find My Device settings.

Note: An Apple ID is required to turn on Find My Device.

Turn On Do Not Disturb

  1. Open the iOS Settings app
  2. Tap Focus in the left-hand navigation list
  3. Tap Do Not Disturb
  4. Toggle on Do Not Disturb

Turn On Photos Access

  1. Open the iOS Settings app
  2. Tap Privacy & Security
  3. Tap Photos
  4. Toggle on Fiesta

Note: This option will only be available after you have tried to upload capture to an event from your device

  1. Open the iOS Settings app
  2. Tap Privacy & Security
  3. Tap Bluetooth
  4. Toggle on Fiesta

Turn On Local Network Access

  1. Open the iOS Settings app
  2. Tap Privacy & Security
  3. Tap Local Network
  4. Toggle on Fiesta

Note: Some of the options within Privacy & Security may not appear if Fiesta, or another app, has not yet asked for permission

What To Know
Guided Access

The Guided Access feature on iOS allows you to limit the iOS device to one app and allows you to control which features are available. When used with Fiesta, you can do the following:

  • Prevent guests from leaving the Fiesta iOS App
  • Set a time limit for how long the iOS device can be used
  • Automatically re-open Fiesta after a crash

Once turned on, Guided Access can be activated while in the Fiesta iOS App by triple clicking the Top Button (or Home Button on older iOS models).

What To Know
Apple ID

An Apple ID is required to download the Fiesta iOS App. However, it can also be used to transfer files and information between a computer and the iPad, and track the location of your iPad using Apple's Find My feature.
