Walkthrough
Setting Up Your iOS Device
The Fiesta iOS App can be used without changing the default iOS settings on an iPad or iPhone. However, the recommended settings in this guide can improve guest experience, device security, and privacy.
What To Know
Display
Turn Off Auto-Brightness
- This will allow the screen to have consistent brightness throughout the event
Turn Off True Tone
- This will allow the screen to display accurate and consistent colors throughout the event
Set Auto-Lock to Never
- This helps prevent the iPad or iPhone from automatically locking the screen after a period of inactivity
Turn Off Low Power Mode
- This helps prevent the iPad or iPhone from entering Low Power Mode, which can override Auto-Brightness and reduce performance during an event
Turn On Full Screen Apps
- This allows the Fiesta iOS App to fill the entire screen, and hide the status bar and dock

Device Security
Create A Passcode
- This helps keep your iPad or iPhone, and the information stored on it secure
Turn On Find My Device
- This allows you to track the location of your iOS device, and lock it remotely if it goes missing
Turn On Do Not Disturb
- This helps prevent calls, alerts, and other notifications from appearing on screen during an event
Turn On Guided Access
- The Guided Access feature on iOS limits the device to one app, and lets you control which features remain available, preventing guests from exiting or minimizing Fiesta during an event
How To
Create A Passcode
- Open the iOS Settings app
- Tap Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID & Passcodes for earlier iPad models)
- Tap Turn Passcode On
- Set the device passcode
Note: Do not use Touch ID to secure your device for Fiesta.
Tip: While it may make remembering passcodes easier, it is recommended that the passcode used for the iOS device is different from the Guided Access passcode and your Event Passcode.
How To
Turn On Find My Device
- Open the iOS Settings app
- Tap your Apple ID banner at the top of the left navigation, below the search bar
- Tap Find My
- Tap Find My iPad or Find My iPhone
- Toggle on Find My iPad or Find My iPhone
- Optional: You can choose to also turn on Find My Network and Sent Last Location from the Find My Device settings.
Note: An Apple ID is required to turn on Find My Device.

Turn On Do Not Disturb
- Open the iOS Settings app
- Tap Focus in the left navigation bar
- Tap Do Not Disturb
- Toggle on Do Not Disturb
What To Know
Guided Access
The Guided Access feature on iOS limits the device to one app, and lets you control which features remain available. When used with Fiesta, you can do the following:
- Prevent guests from leaving the Fiesta iOS App
- Set a time limit for how long the iOS device can be used
- Automatically re-open Fiesta after a crash
Once turned on, Guided Access can be activated while in the Fiesta iOS App by triple clicking the Top Button (or Home Button on older iOS models).

What To Know
Fiesta Permissions
Turn On Photos Access For Fiesta
- This will allow you to download captures from Fiesta to your Camera Roll and upload assets for an event from the Camera Roll
Note: This option will only appear after you have tried to upload design assets or captures to an event from your device.
Turn On Bluetooth Access For Fiesta
- This allows Fiesta to connect to supported Bluetooth features, such as the LED Ring on Salsa 1 and Salsa 2, and to Tortilla for firmware updates and arm rotation control
Turn On Local Network Access For Fiesta
- This will allow you to connect an iPad to an AirPrint dongle for AirPrinting

- Tap Privacy & Security in the left navigation bar
- Tap Photos
- Toggle on Fiesta
Note: This option will only appear after you have tried to upload design assets or captures to an event from your device.

What To Know
iOS Apps Settings For Fiesta
Turn On High Resolution Preview
- This can improve the quality of Photos, GIFs, Boomerangs, and Videos by allowing higher-resolution captures
IMPORTANT: High Resolution Preview can cause performance issues when used on older iPad models.
Enable Keep Screen On
- This helps prevent the iPad or iPhone screen from locking while Fiesta is open

What To Know
Apple ID
An Apple ID is required to download the Fiesta iOS App. It can also be used to transfer files between a computer and an iPad or iPhone, and to track the device's location using Apple's Find My feature.

FAQ
Why don't I see Fiesta under Photos in Privacy & Security?
- Fiesta will not appear under Photos in Privacy & Security until Fiesta attempts to access the Photos app.
- Select Upload From Photos App from any image or video upload menu in the Fiesta iOS App to prompt the Photos permission, and make Fiesta appear under Photos in Privacy & Security.
Why is Guided Access not enabled in the System Check screen after I enabled it in the iOS Settings?
- In order for Fiesta to detect that Guided Access is enabled, you will need to start the Guided Access session.

Why is my iPad going to sleep while an event is running?
- You may need to set Auto-Lock to Never in the iOS Display & Brightness settings.
- You may also want to check that Keep Screen On is enabled under Apps > Fiesta.
