Printing With Salsa 1 And 2
The best way to print with your Salsa 1 or Salsa 2 Photo Booth—or even if you're just using the Fiesta Software on its own—is to use a professional photo printer, along with an AirPrint dongle. It’s the perfect combo for getting your awesome memories printed out in no time!
This guide will walk you through our recommendations for printers and AirPrint dongles to have the best experience for both you and your guests.
Hardware
DNP DS620a And Aircast Pro Wireless Print Server
The DNP DS620A is one of the most commonly used professional printers in the photo booth industry. In order to use it with your Salsa Photo Booth, you will need an AirPrint dongle that connects to the USB-B port on the back of the printer. The AirCastPro II (ACPII) is one of many options to provide printers with AirPrint capabilities. It can be used with a variety of other, non-DNP printers, but the DS620A is the recommended option.
Here is a link to the AirCastPro II setup video!
Pros
DS620A produces industry-standard, high-quality prints. Paper and ink are normally widely available. Able to print in all sizes (Double 2x6, 4x6, and 6x6), the ACP2 provides optional printer controls to get the perfect print.
Cons
DS620A can be considered heavy at 26 pounds. The total cost of the printer and AirPrint dongle can be expensive.
What To Know
Other Printer Compatibility
The DNP DS620A printer is the only printer that have been tested with Photobooth Supply Co. photo booths. There are a few other printers that our customers use, however we cannot guarantee compatibility, as we have not tested other printers directly. If you are unable to use the DS620A, here are a few things to keep in mind when looking for a printer:
- Compatibility with AirPrint Dongles
- Ability to print/cut 4x6 photos and 2x6 photo strips
- Availability of printer media (paper and ink)
While we cannot guarantee compatibility with other printers, we will do our best to help troubleshoot any issue that may arise.
