Why You Need To Manage Storage On The SD Card
The SD card inside your Guac’s camera stores a local backup of your captures, alongside the files uploaded to your online event. Over time, that card will fill up, which can stop new captures from being saved. This page explains why it’s important to regularly clear that space and what formatting the SD card does.
How To
Back Up Captures From The SD Card To A Computer
- Remove the Camera From Your Guac
- Remove the SD Card from the camera

Why Captures Need To Be Deleted From The SD Card
All captures on the Guac Photo Booth are first saved to the Canon camera’s SD card. They are then transferred to the iPad, where Fiesta applies Photo Templates, Overlays, and Effects before uploading them to the event.
After the captures are uploaded, they are automatically removed from the iPad to save storage space.
However, the captures remain on the SD card and are not automatically deleted. Over time, the SD card will fill up and will need to be manually cleared to make room for new captures.
If you find yourself clearing the SD card often, you may want to upgrade to a higher-capacity SD card.

Differences In Quality Between Event Captures And Captures On The SD Card
The size and quality of Photo Mode captures saved to your event are the same as the captures saved to the SD card.
GIF, Boomerang, Video, and Slo-Mo captures may be cropped or compressed before they are saved to your event. This allows for faster uploads and reduces data usage when connected to a personal hotspot with a data limit.
Slo-Mo captures saved to an event are automatically edited by Fiesta to play a portion of the video at regular speed. The same Slo-Mo capture that is saved to the SD card will play back entirely in slow motion.
