What are Capture Modes?
Capture Modes are the different options you can provide your guests to choose from while using the photo booth. You can select any combination to give your clients exactly what they are looking for.
Within Fiesta, there are six Capture Modes: Photo, Boomerang, GIF, Video, 360 Video, and Slo-Mo.
This is also where you can adjust the settings for each type of capture, add photo templates, overlays, and access the advanced settings to change the default aspect ratio or turn mirroring on and off.
Note: Slo-Mo mode is only available on a Guac Booth running a DSLR event, and 360 Video mode is only available on a 360 booth running a 360 event.
What are Other Modes?
Other Modes are modes that you can activate in Fiesta that do not actively capture any type of media.
These modes include Gallery and Sharing Station, which allow guests to view and share previous captures of an event directly from the event directly from the photo booth, or from a dedicated iPad setup as a Sharing Station.
When Gallery mode is enabled, guests will see an option for this alongside the enabled capture modes to view previous captures.
Note: Gallery mode is not available on Virtual or 360 event types.
When Sharing Station is enabled, you will have the option to start the event as a Sharing Station which will only allow guests to view and share captures from that event, including any captures that are added to a Dropbox folder when Dropbox Watch Folder is also turned on.
Note: Sharing Station is not available on Virtual events. 360 events require an iPad to use the Sharing Station.

Photo
Photo mode is the classic photo booth capture option.
Photos can be captured in various shapes and sizes and can be either a standalone image, or a collection of up to four images in a single Photo Template.
Photo captures can also be printed using a compatible AirPrint printer, or with the Guac & Chips Photo Booth and printer.

GIF
GIF mode takes a series of photos and combines them to create a short animated video capture.
You can adjust how many photos are taken, how fast the animation plays, and how much time guests have between each photo.
GIFs are exported as MP4 videos so they are compatible across all devices and social media platforms.
Enable GIF
- Log in to Fiesta
- Create or select an event
- Select Configure Event
- Select Modes
- Toggle on GIF
Once GIF is enabled, you can adjust your Playback Speed, Number of Frames, and Time between captures.
Boomerang
Boomerangs are short 1 to 4 second video clips that repeatedly play forward and backward in a loop.
You can adjust the length of the video recording to provide guests with more time to get in all of their best moves!
Enable Boomerang
- Log in to Fiesta
- Create or select an event
- Select Configure Event
- Select Modes
- Toggle on Boomerang
From here you can customize by choosing an overlay and adjusting the Video Duration.
Video
Video mode allows for longer form captures, up to 120 seconds in length (or up to 15 seconds for Fiesta Plus subscribers).
Video captures also support audio recordings to allow guests to leave a message, like birthday wishes, wedding greetings, or testimonials - depending on the event.
For the best experience when capturing videos with audio, it is recommended to use a supported microphone for in-person events run on the Fiesta iOS App.

Enable Video

- Toggle on Video mode
From here, you can choose an Overlay to further customize your captures.
Slo-Mo
Slo-mo mode is a Capture Mode exclusive to the Guac Booth when running a DSLR event that records a short video at 120 frames per second, and slows it down to create a slow motion effect.
Enabling Slo-Mo mode requires specific camera settings to work correctly.

Sharing Station
Sharing Station mode allows guests to share their captures from a separate iPad while also maintaining the look and feel of the event. This enables a smoother flow when there are a large number of guests attending an event who would like to utilize the booth.
With the Sharing Station, guests start by taking captures at the booth. Once captures have been taken, they can be guided away from the booth to the nearby Sharing Station, to share their captures with the Sharing Methods that are enabled for the event. That way, there is never a bottleneck or delay for guests at an event!
Note: Each iPad utilized as a Sharing Station requires a separate Fiesta license.

Enable Sharing Station
The Sharing Station will be disabled by default, however it is easy to enable!
To enable the Sharing Station:
- Log in to Fiesta
- Select the event you wish to activate or create a new event
- Select Configure Event
- Select the Modes tab
- Under Other Modes, toggle on the Sharing Station
The Sharing Station will use the Sharing Methods set up under the Sharing tab.
Gallery Mode
Gallery Mode allows guests to view and share their previous captures directly from within the event. Tapping any of the captures displayed in Gallery mode provides the option to reshare the capture using any of the event's enabled Sharing Methods. For example, if you want to reprint captures, turn on Gallery mode.
Enable Gallery Mode
Gallery mode is disabled by default, but can easily be enabled with a single setting.
To Turn On Gallery Mode:
- Log in to Fiesta
- Select an existing event or create a new event
- Select Configure Event
- Select the Modes tab
- Under Other Modes, toggle on Gallery mode
Gallery mode utilizes the Sharing Methods enabled under the Sharing tab.
Capture Modes For Virtual Booth Events
Virtual Booth supports four capture modes - Photo, GIF, Boomerang, and Video.
All Virtual Booth capture modes use a 1:1 square aspect ratio, so it is important to make sure any overlays added to the event are the same size.
Photo Templates are not available for Photo captures in Virtual Booth events.

Creating Photo Templates And Overlays In Design Studio
The Design Studio is your hub for creating and editing Photo Templates and Overlays that you can add to your different capture modes.

Setting A Default Aspect Ratio
The Aspect Ratio determines the shape and size of your captures and how much is captured in each shot.
The default aspect ratios are 3:4 portrait (iPad events) and 4:3 landscape (DSLR events).
If the aspect ratio is changed, the original capture will be cropped to fit the selected aspect ratio.
If you've added a Photo Template or Overlay to your capture, the aspect ratio will be automatically adjusted to fit the size of the individual photos within the Photo Template or Overlay.
However, if you're not using a Photo Template or Overlay for one or more capture modes, you can manually set the Aspect Ratio from the Camera Settings.
Adjust The Aspect Ratio
- Log in to Fiesta
- Select or create an event
- Select Configure Event
- Select Camera
- Select Camera Defaults
- Choose the desired aspect ratio
Note: All Virtual Booth event captures are in a 1:1 square aspect ratio and cannot be changed.
Mirroring
In Fiesta, Mirroring is disabled by default for the final image. While the live view in camera settings will always be mirrored, the mirroring setting only impacts the final image, not the live view.
