What Is Green Screen
The Green Screen is a Fiesta feature that allows a blue or green chroma backdrop to be used to add multiple virtual, static or animated backgrounds to guests' captures. You can add up to 5 different Green backgrounds at a time, as well as adjust the exact green screen color and tolerance with the live view.
Enable Green Screen
- Log in to Fiesta
- Select the event you wish to enable Green Screen in or create a new event

Best Practices for Green Screen Lighting
Basic Setup
- Using only the photo booth's included lighting can create harsh shadows behind guests, resulting in a halo effect that may reveal the green screen.
- This setup works best in a well-lit environment.
Recommended Setup
- This setup requires two external lights positioned at a 45-degree angle, facing behind the guests and toward the green screen.
- This helps eliminate shadows, ensuring the green screen is evenly lit.
When To Adjust Green Screen Tolerance
The Tolerance setting adjusts how much green the software removes when replacing the background. This setting allows you to fine-tune green screen recognition to improve how cleanly guests are cut out from the background, ensuring a higher-quality result.
Range: 10% to 100%
- Higher percentages remove more green, useful for fixing halo effects (visible green around guests).
- Lower percentages remove less green, useful if parts of the guests or their outfits appear to be cut off.
When to adjust:
- If you see a halo effect or green screen edges around guests: Increase Tolerance
- If parts of guests, like their outline, clothing, or details appear cut off: Decrease Tolerance
Green Screen Vs. Background Removal
While Virtual Event Background Removal and In-Person Green Screen features work similarly, there are a few key differences. One of the main differences is the Virtual Event Background Removal feature uses AI to digitally remove the background, cropping out the background and replacing it with the uploaded background. Green Screen, on the other hand, uses a physical Green or Blue chroma backdrop to remove and then add the uploaded backgrounds on top of.
The Green Screen feature also works with animated backgrounds, while the Virtual Event Background Removal at this time can only take the first frame of an animated background.
