Explainer
Slo-Mo is a Capture Mode exclusive to the Guac Booth that records a short video at 120 frames per second, and then slows it down to create a slow-motion effect.
In order to enable Slo-Mo Mode, certain settings need to be adjusted manually on the camera inside of Guac.
Once the event is over and you no longer need Slo-Mo Mode, it is recommended to restore the original camera settings before the next event.
Adjust The Camera Settings
To adjust the camera settings for Slo-Mo Mode:
- Plug the Guac Booth into power
- Turn camera mode dial to the video camera icon
- Press Menu
- Select Movie rec quality
- Select High Frame Rate
- Set High Frame Rate to Enable
- Turn the camera dial back to M
Set Focus Mode To MF
- Plug the Guac Booth into power
- Turn camera mode dial to the video camera icon
- Press Menu
- Select Shooting settings
- Go to Menu 5
- Go down to Focus mode
- Set to MF
Change In-App Shutter Speed
- Plug the Guac Booth into power
- Open the Fiesta iOS app
- Select an event or create a new event
- Tap Configure Event
- Tap Camera
- Tap Video Settings
- Tap Shutter Speed
- Select 1/250
Enable Slo-Mo Capture Mode
To enable Slo-Mo Mode for an event:
- Open the Fiesta iOS App
- Select an event or create a new event
- Tap Configure Event
- Tap Modes
- Tap the toggle next to Slo-Mo to turn it on
Note: If Boomerang or Video modes are turned on, Slo-Mo Mode cannot be enabled.
What To Know
Other Capture Modes When The Booth Is Set Up For Slo-Mo Mode
When the Canon camera is set up for Slo-Mo with High Frame Rate enabled and Focus mode set to MF:
- Boomerang and Video Mode will also be recorded in slow motion.
- Photos and GIFs may not capture correctly.
Note: If Slo-Mo Mode is enabled, you will not be able to select Boomerang or Video Mode for that event.
What To Know
Restoring Original Camera Settings
After your event when you’re done using Slo-Mo Mode, you will want to set the camera settings back to their original settings to restore functionality to Boomerang and Video Mode captures.
To return to the original camera settings after using Slo-Mo Mode:
- Plug the Guac Booth into power
- Turn camera mode dial to the video camera icon
- Press Menu
- Select Movie rec quality
- Select High Frame Rate
- Set High Frame Rate to Disable
- Go to Menu 5
- Go down to Focus mode
- Set to AF
- Turn the camera dial back to M
What To Know
Creating A Slo-Mo Event In The Web App
When creating a Slo-Mo event in the web app, you will need to first select DSLR as the Event Type within the Event Proposal section.
If DSLR is not the selected Event Type, Slo-Mo will not show as an option under Modes.
To select DSLR as the Event Type:
- Log in to the Fiesta Web App
- Select your event or create a new event
- Click the three dots beside the event title
- Click Edit Event Info
- Click DSLR under Event Type
The Slo-Mo Capture mode will now be available in the Modes section.
