What are iOS settings?
While the Fiesta iOS App can be used without making any changes to the default settings, you can greatly improve the guest experience and increase the security and privacy on the iOS device by following this guide.
Essential Settings
Display
Turn Off Auto-Brightness
- This will allow the screen to have consistent brightness throughout the event
Turn Off True Tone
- This will allow the screen to display accurate and consistent colors throughout the event
Security And Privacy
Create A Passcode
- This will keep your iOS device and any information stored on it secured
Turn On Find My Device
- This will allow you to track and monitor the location of your iOS device and lock remotely if it goes missing
Turn On Do Not Disturb
- This will prevent notifications from appearing on screen during an event
Turn On Guided Access
- This will prevent guests from exiting or leaving the Fiesta iOS App during an event
Features
Turn On Photos Access For Fiesta
- This will allow you to download captures from Fiesta to your Camera Roll and upload assets for an event from the Camera Roll
Note: This option will only be available after you have tried to upload captures to an event from your device
Turn On Bluetooth Access For Fiesta
- This will allow you to pair Fiesta with different Bluetooth features
Turn On Local Network Access For Fiesta
- This will allow you to connect to an AirPrint dongle for AirPrinting
Adjust Display Settings
How to turn off Auto-Brightness:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap Display & Brightness in the left navigation
- Toggle off True Tone
Secure Your iOS Device
How to create a passcode:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap Face ID & Passcode (or Touch ID & Passcodes for earlier iPad models)
- Tap Turn Passcode On
- Set the device passcode
Note: Do not use Touch ID to secure your device.
Tip: While it may make remembering passcodes easier, it is recommended that the passcode used for the iOS device is different from the Guided Access passcode and your Event Passcode.
How to turn on Find My Device:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap the Profile at the top of the left navigation
- Tap Find My
- Tap Find My iPad

Optional: You can choose to also turn on Find My Network and Sent Last Location from the Find My Device settings.
Note: An Apple ID is required to turn on Find My Device.
How to turn on Do Not Disturb:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap Focus in the left navigation
- Tap Do Not Disturb
- Toggle on Do Not Disturb
How to turn on Guided Access:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap Accessibility
- Tap Guided Access
- Toggle on Accessibility Shortcut
- Tap Passcode Settings
- Tap Set Guided Access Passcode
- Set the Guided Access passcode

Allow Fiesta Features
How to allow Photos access:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap Privacy
- Tap Photos
- Toggle on Fiesta
Note: This option will only be available after you have tried to upload capture to an event from your device
How to allow Bluetooth access:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap Privacy
- Tap Bluetooth
- Toggle on Fiesta
How to allow Local Network access:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap Privacy
- Tap Local Network
- Toggle on Fiesta
Note: Some of the options within Privacy may not appear if Fiesta, or another app, has not yet asked for permission
Using Apple ID For App Store And iCloud
An Apple ID is required to download the Fiesta iOS App. However, it can also be used to transfer files and information between a computer and the iPad and track the location of your iPad using Apple's Find My feature.
There are two main areas that you can sign into an iOS device using your Apple ID: the App Store and iCloud. You can sign into both using the same or different Apple IDs.
While you can sign in with an existing Apple ID, you may not want to sync all information for security or privacy reasons.
To avoid this, you can either create a separate, unique Apple ID specifically for the iOS device, or you can disable some or all of the syncing options.
To disable iCloud syncing options:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap the Profile at the top of the left navigation
- Tap iCloud
- Toggle off anything you don't want to appear on the iOS device
Automatic Fiesta And iOS Updates
Keeping the iOS device and Fiesta Software up to date is important to ensure you have the latest features and improvements. These updates can be automated within the iOS device's settings.
Both App Store and iOS updates will only download when the device is connected to the internet.
How to turn on automatic Fiesta updates:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap App Store in the left navigation
- Toggle on App Updates
How to turn on automatic iOS updates:
- Open the Settings app
- Tap General in the left navigation
- Tap Software Update
- Tap Automatic Updates
- Toggle on Download iPadOS Updates
Note: You can also turn on Install iOS Updates. The iOS device will attempt to install update overnight if charging and connected to the internet.
Guided Access
The Guided Access feature on iOS allow you to limit the iOS device to one app and allows you to control which feature are available. When used with Fiesta, you can do the following:
- Prevent guests from leaving the Fiesta iOS App
- Set a time limit for how long the iOS device can be used
- Automatically re-open Fiesta after a crash
To use Guided Access, if first needs to be turned on within the iOS Settings app.
Once turned on, Guided Access can be activated while in the Fiesta iOS App by triple clicking the Top Button (or Home Button on older iOS models).
Prevent Guests From Closing The Fiesta App
Guided Access can be used to prevent guests from exiting the Fiesta iOS App. Guided Access is best used along with an Event Passcode which prevents guests from ending the event.
To activate Guided Access:
- Open the Fiesta iOS App
- Triple click the Top Button (or Home Button on older iPad models)
- Tap Start in the top right corner
- Tap Start in the top right corner
- Set a passcode if one hasn't been set already
To exit Guided Access:
- Triple click the Top Button (or Home Button on older iPad models)
- Enter in Guided Access passcode
- Tap End in the top left corner
