How To
What Is Mirroring?
Mirroring is a feature in the Fiesta software that allows guests' captures to be flipped. This allows the captures to appear more closely to how guests are used to seeing themselves (in the mirror), as opposed to how they appear to other individuals.
When (And When Not) To Use Mirroring
Mirroring can be used for any event type, and is a personal preference for clients. However, it is more common to enable mirroring when setting up a Glam-style booth, or for weddings.
Alternately, mirroring is not ideal to use when there is a prop, backdrop, or other physical item where text will be often visible. This will flip any text in the capture - it will not, however, affect overlays or photo templates with text!
Turning On Mirroring For Captures
In Fiesta, mirroring is disabled by default for the final image. While the live view in camera settings will always be mirrored, the mirroring setting only impacts the final image, not the live view.
Here’s a little more about how the mirroring feature in Fiesta works:
- With mirroring enabled, the final image will be flipped to match the live view, making it look like a mirror.
Note: This can cause text on props or signs to appear reversed. - With mirroring disabled, the final image will be like a traditional camera shot, with no flipping so that text will appear correctly.
Turn On Mirroring
- Log in to Fiesta
- Select the event you wish to turn mirroring on for, or create a new event
- Select Configure Event
- Select the Camera tab
- Select Camera Defaults
- Toggle on Mirroring
Note: Mirroring is off by default in any new events created
